▲ 제9회 전국이중언어말하기대회에 참가해 영예의 대상을 수상한 부림초등학교 3학년 마혜주 학생
부림초등학교 3학년 마혜주 학생이 교육부가 주관하고 한국외국어대학교 및 LG연암재단이 주최한 ‘제9회 전국이중언어말하기대회’에서 초등부 대상을 받았다.
다문화가정 학생들의 이중언어 강점을 개발하고 자긍심을 키워주기 위해 비대면으로 개최된 이번 대회에는 전국 53개 시·도 교육청 예선을 통과한 다문화 학생들이 참가해 실력을 겨루었다.
이번 대회에 경북교육청 대표로 참가한 마혜주 학생은 ‘나의 꿈과 희망’이란 주제를 한국어와 몽골어로 발표해 영예의 대상과 함께 교육부장관상을 받았다. 또, 50만원의 상금도 거머쥐었다.
마혜주 학생은 “언니가 이 대회에서 상을 타는 모습을 보면서 나도 언니처럼 멋진 모습을 보여주고 싶었어요. 대회를 준비하는 동안 힘든 점도 많았지만 큰 상을 타게 되어서 너무 기쁩니다. 준비하는 동안 도와주신 가족과 선생님께 감사드립니다.”라며 수상 소감을 전했다.
이민애 지도교사는 “마혜주 학생은 오후에 자발적으로 병설 유치원 동생들과 놀아주는 봉사활동을 하고 있어요. 재능도 많고 봉사활동도 많이 하는 진취적인 학생이라 앞으로가 더 기대됩니다.”라고 기쁨을 함께했다.
