경산과학고등학교(교장 최한용)는 도내 중학교 1학년을 대상으로 온라인 과학 재능 기부 프로그램을 운영했다.
본 프로그램은 코로나19로 대면활동이 어려운 여건을 감안해 온라인 플랫폼을 활용해 경산 44명, 칠곡 8명 등 도내 12개 시·군 학생 151명을 대상으로 진행했다.
경산과학고는 대상 학생들의 가정에 과학 실험 꾸러미를 배송하고 총 5회에 걸친 온라인 실습 교육을 통해 바나나 DNA 추출, 간이 전동기 만들기, 인공지능 앱 만들기 등 체험활동을 지원했다.
특히, 경산과학고에서 보유하고 있는 초고속카메라, 주사전자현미경, 분광분석기 등 첨단 실험 기자재를 학생들에게 소개해 과학에 대한 학생들의 관심을 유도했다.
경산과학고 관계자는 “이번 재능 기부 활동으로 학생과 학부모들의 긍정적 영향을 확인했다. 앞으로도 지속적인 재능 기부 활동을 통해 지역 사회에 기여하는 학교가 되도록 노력하겠다.”라고 전했다.
