경산 출신으로 경산경찰서장을 역임했던 최현석 대전경찰청 수사부장(52세, 사진)이 치안감으로 승진 내정됐다.
20일 경찰청이 발표한 치안정감과 치안감 등 경찰 고위직 인사 결과, 최현석 수사부장이 경무관에서 치안감으로 승진(내정)하게 됐다.
경산시 자인면이 고향인 최 수사부장은 경북고와 고려대 법학과를 졸업했으며 지난 2007년 사법고시 44회 특채로 경찰에 임관했다.
이후 서울청 규제개혁법무담당관, 서울마포경찰서장, 경찰청 기획조정실 규제개혁법무담당관, 대구성서경찰서장을 거쳐 현재 대전경찰청 수사부장으로 근무하고 있다.
최 수사부장은 지난 2015년 7월 제65대 경산경찰서장으로 부임해 이듬해 11월까지 고향 경산에서 근무한 바 있으며 지역 선·후배들과의 모임도 이어가며 차기 선출직 후보로 거론되고 있다.
