경북도는 19일 경북경제진흥원 신임원장으로 송경창 전 경산부시장(55세)을 임명했다.
송 신임 원장은 1992년 공직에 첫발을 내디딘 뒤 경북도에서 문화체육관광국장, 창조경제산업실장, 환동해지역본부장, 경산부시장, 포항부시장 등을 역임하면서 28년 동안 지역경제 활성화를 위한 다양한 정책을 시행했다.
송 원장은 “급변하는 경제 환경에 대응하기 위해 글로벌 강소기업과 기업가형 소상공인을 육성하고 첨단산업을 중심으로 하는 양질의 일자리를 창출하겠다.”고 포부를 밝혔다.
또, “효율성과 전문성을 중심으로 하는 공공조직 혁신을 통해 경북의 인재·기업·산업의 혁신을 지원하는 혁신경제 플랫폼을 구축해 지역경제 성장에 동력을 확보할 수 있도록 하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
이날 임명장을 전달한 이철우 경북도지사는 “경제 전문기관을 이끌어가는 최적임자로 임명된 만큼 지역의 중소기업과 소상공인을 위한 혁신적인 정책을 통해 경북이 주도하는 경제성장 동력이 마련될 수 있도록 일선에서 최선의 노력을 다해줄 것.”을 당부했다.
