6.1 지방선거 국민의힘 경산시장 후보로 조현일 예비후보(전 경북도의회 교육위원장)가 확정됐다.
국민의힘 최고위원회는 9일 국회에서 6.1 지방선거 공천 회의를 열어 경북도당 공천관리위원회에서 올린 경북의 23개 시·군 기초단체장 공천을 원안대로 의결했다.
앞서 국민의힘 경북도당 공천관리위원회(위원장 김정재 의원)는 위원들의 투표로 조현일 예비후보를 경산시장 후보로 단수 추천했다.
국민의힘 최고위원회 공천 확정 의결 통보를 받은 조현일 예비후보는 “후보로 최종 확정되어 무거운 책임감을 느낀다. 국민의힘 시도의원 후보들과 힘을 하나로 모아 본 선거에서 반드시 승리하고, 윤석열 정부와 함께 발전하는 경산의 희망찬 미래를 만들어 시민께 보답하겠다”며 각오를 밝혔다.
