손말남 경산시의원(국민의힘)이 지역 특성을 살린 특색있는 가로수 거리 조성의 필요성을 제시했다.
손 의원은 29일 열린 제243회 임시회 제2차 본회의에서 ‘경산의 지역특성을 살린 특색있는 가로수 거리 조성의 건’이란 주제로 5분 발언을 했다.
그는 “경산시의 가로수는 기능적인 측면에서는 잘 관리되고 있으나 미관적인 측면에서 보면 연접한 대구, 영천, 청도 등 타 시·군처럼 개별적 특성이 없는 모양새로 관리되고 있는 것 같은 아쉬움이 있다.”고 지적했다.
손 의원은 “우리 경산시는 10개 대학 무려 12만명의 대학생이 재학하고 있는 젊음의 도시.”라며, “젊음의 도시 경산이라는 지역 특색에 맞는 독특한 도시경관을 형성하고 아름다운 도시 이미지를 가꾸어 한다.”고 강조했다.
그러면서 “가로수가 더욱 아름다운 도시경관을 조성하고 지역 관광자원으로서도 거듭날 수 있도록 장기적인 가로수 관리 계획 아래 경산시만의 특색있는 가로수 경관을 조성해 달라.”고 당부했다.
